Cruise

video installation

four-channel video, looped, 2006;
exhibited: Jessica Bradley Art + Projects, 2009; Daily News, Canadian Art Magazine booth, Toronto Art Fair, 2009; ISCP Open Studio, New York, 2004

This video was shot inside a cruise ship cabin on the way to Alaska. These were events that happened in real time and were not blue screened or slowed down. Each monitor shows the interior of the same room but has a different event unfolding out the window. The environment of the boat itself creates the staged artificial feel of the room as well as the slow progression of the footage. This work explores the viewer’s relationship to landscape and how it is mediated in both a real and digital environment.
